It’s been a long time I last use a normal phone. Someone please remind me the space button is the hex key. I kept forgetting it. *Urgh* I need to get use to this new phone. Had finish updating my cell group contacts, now left with my ministry contacts, which is even harder. Maybe I just update the team ICs can already. Went to play with the camera functions. I love the mosaic function. Creating new photos. Will post some of them soon.

While on my way to work, I saw a cat on top of a ongoing taxi. Almost thought it is a real cat. *Laughs* Not sure what is the advertisement is about.

The worst blog host ever to me in Taiwan should be Blog Sina. Cos I always get into error page. Sun and Jolin (蔡依林) changed it to other blog host. I like their themes, but hate visiting it as it always gives me the error message that tells me that there is no such address. I hate it when it happens. I have no problem with Wretch. Which is good.

Boy, I’m so jealous. If only I can have it.

I hate being sick. Spending the whole day trying to clear my nose. *Urgh*

Don’t You Push It

I hate it. I hate it when they do wrong, and they push the blame to me. What is this? Am I a easy person to be push of? I did told them before-hand before things goes wrong. And they push it to me saying that I did not tell them or “you didn’t tell me”, etc. I’m not a pushover, okay. I’m sick of it. And by the way invoices that are under COD, please send to the billing department for billing immediately for us to bill the customers immediately.

I’m still thinking of buying Samsung SGH-E250. Should I just get it? It almost have all the functions that I want. Except for MP3 ringtone. I think I just go to Vivo and buy it. Will be connecting it after receiving my handphone bill. Which will be August 7.

 

Enough of Your Rudeness!

Okay, Xiaxue. I had enough. Can’t you be nice? Why do you have to be rude? I mean, does Lao Zha Bor seeking attention? I don’t think so. I don’t even want to link her (Xiaxue) post as I do not want her to criticize me. I do not want to make enemies either. Anyway back to my topic. I don’t understand her. Why does she likes to criticize people this way? What is wrong with Lao Zha Bor’s blog? I don’t see anything disgusting. If she said that Steven Lim’s is disgusting. I agree. If he didn’t post any semi nude photos of himself and post it on his blog, his blog will be alright to me. If I want to see a semi nude photos of guys, I would like to see hunks. Back to Lao Zha Bor, there is nothing wrong with her blog or herself in anyway.

Okay, there is no show time this Sunday for Invisible Target on Shaw. I will be watching it at Vivo City this Sunday. What I like about Vivo GV is the leg space! When someone come in later than you, you do not need to move an inch. You just sit there and continue to watch your movie. There is a larger space for people to walk pass your seat without disturbing you to move your bags that is on the floor. *Grins*

I feel so glad throughout this month. I felt that I had accomplished this month. I used to calculate how I’m going to spent and save my money for the past few years. Early this month, I decided not to calculate them, instead reminding myself not to use a certain amount and I accomplished it without making myself broke I’m so please with myself. *Grins* Give a pat on the shoulder on myself. *Hee hee* There is still a lot of things that I wanted to buy. The most wanted item is out of print! Yes, The Hardy Boys Detective Handbook! *Darn* Why do I have to wait till it is out of print then I wanted to buy it?

Spent the whole afternoon trying to sync my entries with Ping. Not sure why I only see 6 entries whereas I have blog daily. I joined WP since February this year. That means I have 149 entries. And it only show 6 entries.

I really hate calling this B company and I ask to speak to sales department who is in-charge of shipment going to East Malaysia. I expect the call to be divert direct straight to the person-in-charge, example the person name is KR. It will be divert to KR. And it turns out, it is diverted to three or four different person!!! What is this? This is hair-pulling time is it? IT IS frustrating.

I Want to Go Home Early!

Boy, I’m already hungry early in the morning. Yesterday skip my lunch. Dinner, didn’t really eat much. Today’s breakfast, had cereal. Not a full breakfast, huh? Still hungry.

I eats a lot when I’m working. And I don’t even know how did I manage to maintain my weight! Strange, huh.

As for the problem in viewing on Mozilla, I think that the html that I used is not applicable. Guess all my post will be all right-aligned when I don’t use any html. Anyone knows how to use css?

I went to the accounts room for a while to settle some stuffs. When I get back, JT came and use my computer. What is this. She has more functions in her computer EDI. I don’t have the access that she can use. How come she use my computer? Okay, I hate people touching my computer without asking me for permission and using it without informing me. It’s my privacy, okay. When I told her to use her own computer. She doesn’t even want to move. And continue to search whether is the shipments’ permits has been done or not. I told her that I don’t have that access to print or do any permits. She just won’t listen. I’m really feel irritated when people use my computer without informing me. I don’t use the person computer when he is not around. I ask permission first.

Sometimes I just wish that WordPress allows all kinds of html and css. It will be so much easier and free to use it. Currently, you have to pay monthly subscription to edit css. Which is quite expensive. USD 15.00 per year. Which is about SGD 39.25. and I don’t even know how to use css. I only know how to use html.

Received an email from my HR about working hours.

Therefore, the proposed working hrs will be as below, while the lunch hours and lunch duties would remain the same.

Weekdays : 8.30 a.m. – 5.45 p.m.
Saturdays : 8.30 a.m. – 12.45 p.m.

Please choose one of the below options and provide your reason.

Option 1 : new working hours as above
Option 2 : remain at our current working hours

Glad that this proposal is out. I will choose option 1. If I have any evening appointments, I do not need to rush.

Only one percent of the people choose option 1. That means we ‘vote‘ also came to no use at all. As most of them do not want to come to work early. (-_-”) Why can’t they have option 3?

Went to the west to collect money. Okay, I’m a part-time “loan shark”. *Laughs* Will be going to cell group meeting after work. With the current working hours, I need to rush. And I hate rushing. With no time for dinner. Need to drop by Popular to buy some stuffs.

China Firewall

Came out early, when I reached the office to find out that I was late! What is this? The bus was driving at a slow speed. No wonder I felt the bus was kind of not moving at all. *Haiz* Three months, with no late, urgent leave(s) and MC, you are entitled to have SGD 50.00. This month is the final month of the three months, and I was late for nothing (this is the second time, the other time, I was late as the bus came late as scheduled). *Urgh!!* Why is all this happening to me???!!!! I’m really fed up now. What a start of the day, eh. SBS Transit, you ‘owe’ me SGD 100.00. Life sucks. From now on, I’m not going to take bus to work. *Urgh* You are making me walk more.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow readers, Becky, Wai Wai, Lawerence for their encouragements during this period of time that I lost my handphone (even though we never met before).

Changing

I’m thinking of changing to OCBC instead of staying at POSB. For OCBC, you have to maintain SGD 1,000.00 per month, if not they will deduct SGD 2.00. Not like POSB, DBS and UOB you have to maintain SGD 500.00 per day, or they will deduct SGD 2.00. Which is better? If I change to OCBC, I just have to put in extra SGD 50.00 to ensure that they won’t deduct my SGD 2.00. This Friday, will be going to the bank to do the arrangements.

I really need to change to a new handphone. Can’t even blog with my handphone now. Now is back to my trusty thumb-drive to blog. Can’t even open the entry that I written this morning! It’s gone!

YY So Macho

Not much today. Came across my company’s chalet photos in the share file. When KA told me the photo saved as “YY So Macho”. Then I noticed about the photo. *Laughs* Went to edit the photo as didn’t want to put the other two girls in it. In some angle, he may look like one of the writer in the Newpaper. Forgotten his name.

CK is angry with TC. He asked her, ‘How come before billing, why didn’t she approach KS for assistance?’ She starts to say why he didn’t appreciate her work. I told that in the last meeting, didn’t we agree that if she have a problem, ask KS for help. Don’t just solve the problem on her own, as she may not know the charges. And it may had not quoted to the customer about the extra charges. KS can help to quote. She doesn’t want to ask KS for help, and put everything into her hands. Does it occur to her that she shipments belongs to TC? If he is not free, she should approach KS for help. If she doesn’t ask her, what is KS’s job for?

She then said that TC don’t trust anybody. I explain to her why he don’t fully trust the transporter. She just simply cut me off after two sentence. What is this? I scolds her that with this kind of attitude, how am I going to teamwork with her? Tell me how. Every single word I say, she just loves to interrupt.

And says tomorrow she is having a bad mood. Whoever ask her or talks to her, she will scold. Well, CK, let me tell you something, you bad mood, doesn’t mean you can just scold the person. Cos you always don’t listen finish what the person going to tell you. And you bad mood, doesn’t mean everyone is going to be bad mood with you. Well, everyday she is having a bad mood. Not a single day that she is in a good mood, since the day she starts works here. Even in the morning, she is already bad mood. Before the work even start. If one day, she is in a good mood the whole day, the day will be very sunny in my life. Cos bad days equals to stormy day. She doesn’t like people to ask her for things or for answers in the morning. Even if the customers calls in the morning for things, she will be angry. *Duh* Like this how to work? I mean with this kind of mindset. Everyday there will be people asking for things in the morning. Furthermore, she is in the customer service department. With this kind of mindset of hates people looking for her for things in the morning, she will always be angry the whole day.

Really not in mood to go home early. But need to reached home by nine as I want to watch the last episode of 爱特别的你. I walked about, say, how many bus stops had I past thru? I think about six bus stops in about twenty minutes time. Wanted to walked to the seventh bus stop, but it’s a ‘dead’ end road. As there is no pavement for me to walk but to take the bus home. Quite a good exercise. Sweat a few. Maybe I should more, huh. Really felt like walking all the way home. If there is pavement all the way, of cos, it is quite dangerous to have no pavements. Cos youwill be walking on the road! Apologise that the photo is not clear as I don’t have any tripod. Maybe I should buy one. When I have the money.

Decided not to talk to her anymore. Since she always like that. Wasting my time. Talking to her only to spoils my day. Why should I let her spoil my day? By the way, all the angers that I shared, is just my point of view.

Read Me

I really sick and tired of talking or discuss or even talk things out with CK already. I mean, I told her that if it happened that day she having a bad day, just simply say in one sentence, “Could you come back to me in half an hour time?” or “Can I come back to you later?” That would be helpful. I still stand there, doesn’t mean that I’m still waiting for my answers. I may stand down there thinking of some other things or thinks about is there other ways of finding the answers. If she doesn’t like people to look for her early in the morning, just say it in the nice way. Not just simply frustrate your angers without listen to the other party to say a word. Just like that. Sometimes I wonder, what if boss asking her for things early in the morning, will she be angry and scolds back? She cannot have this kind of attitude (or habit of disliking people to look for her in the morning for things or questions).

Even the discussion today with her, is not working out, again, she just simply frustrate her angers. But at least she say it in a softer tone. But still, I hope she will try to see it at my point of view. In the same time, I will try to understand her.

Changed to a brand new computer. The Microsoft Word is so brand new. Even the Show/Hide Editing Marks logo is changed. And default font is a Chinese characters. Not sure how to change it to a English default. Does this computer programming came from China? Looks like it is. *Laughs* The only way to see how it is going to look like when it is printed, I have to view it Print Layout. Which I don’t usually use. Still have lots of organising needed. Hope to be done by next Monday.

I just stood there, waiting for my turn. Oh why should I stand there and listen? *Darn*

In today’s sales meeting, the salesmen are frustrating out their anger on JT (not the same person). I was wordless in the whole meeting as I don’t want to judge her or anything. And whatever I do, nothing is linked to her. Only to say that I’m still waiting for the sales leads from every salesman. And I’m no rush to it. As long as I have it before TN comes back.

Ice creams. Felt going out and buy it. Been thinking of buying grapes to eat in the office. To eat it when I felt my mouth is itchy for a bite. Instead of biscuits. Which will be very heaty.

Japan’s Mori wins troubled Miss Universe contest

A raven-haired Miss Japan, Riyo Mori, was crowned Miss Universe 2007 on Monday in a contest marked by protests, a banned dress and the withdrawal of one beauty queen on the ground the pageant degrades women.

Mori, 20, the 56th winner of the title, was given her $250,000 diamond-and-pearl crown by last year’s winner, Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico, watched by a live audience of 10,000 and some 600 million television viewers worldwide.

A lifelong ballet dancer from a village near Mount Fuji, Mori wore a striking black gown with colored lapels for the final. Winning surpassed the ambition of her grandmother, who told her as a child she wanted her to be Miss Japan one day.

“My mind went blank,” she said of the winning moment.

During the evening gown parade, Miss USA, Rachel Smith, slipped on the runway and landed on her bottom, although the slip didn’t stop her earning fifth place.

This year’s contest was marked by controversy, with a handful of Mexicans booing Smith in the run-up to the finals because of what they saw as U.S. unfriendliness toward illegal immigrants.

Miss Sweden, Isabel Lestapier Winqvist, unexpectedly pulled out of the event because of complaints in her country that it degrades women. Sweden has won the Miss Universe crown three times in the past.

In another hitch, Miss Mexico was made to change her outfit for the regional dress contest after her original dress, decorated with brutal images of rebels in a 1920s religious uprising being hanged or shot, drew accusations of poor taste.

DREADLOCKS

The annual Miss Universe pageant – which tries to present itself as something more meaningful than a swimwear parade – was first held in Long Beach, California, in 1952. The event was taken over in 1996 by U.S. real estate mogul Donald Trump.

This year, it attracted protesters wearing white dresses splashed with fake blood and sashes proclaiming “Miss Juarez,” “Miss Atenco” and “Miss Michoacan” in reference to places in Mexico made infamous by killings or sexual abuse of women.

In another quirk for 2007, the long, twisted dreadlocks of Miss Jamaica, the contest’s first ever Rastafarian participant, and the close-shaved head of Miss Tanzania stood out from the lacquered manes of the other contestants.

Last year’s Miss Universe event in Los Angeles also made its mark when winner Rivera caused gasps by slumping to the ground in a faint during a post-pageant news conference.

As well as strutting in cocktail dresses and bikinis, the 77 contestants from nations ranging from Albania to Zambia traveled in Mexico in the lead-up to the event, visiting Mayan ruins and learning about endangered animals.

They also had to answer questions to put their personalities and public speaking ability to the test.

This was the fourth time the pageant was held in Mexico, which in 1991 won the crown with beauty queen Lupita Jones.

Mori – the second Japanese woman to win the Miss Universe title – will spend her year-long reign traveling the world to speak out on humanitarian issues like poverty and disease.

Interestingness

I hate to doing the same thing over and over again. Sent to them with all the documents during the first set sent out. When ask for reminder for the payment, they request for the documents. That is alright. When sent reminder again, they ask the same thing again. What is this? Can’t they have a file where they file outstanding bills? And refer from there?

Use Chopsticks for Everything

I have a serious aversion to metal forks and spoons. It may be because I have so much metal in my mouth already; there is something scary about a heavy metal forkful of food slightly missing its mark and landing squarely on one of my metal-dominated molars, and sending the dreaded ping of metal-to-metal pain in a quadrant of my mouth, in hideous and direct contrast with the delight of the morsel I am simultaneously attempting to chew. I have nightmares about chomping down on a small piece of foil that’s still innocently clinging to a piece of food.

Moreover, there’s something crass about the shovelling motion for which the fork is designed. It is imprecise, even fumbling, to an alarming degree. We often need a blocker just to make it work: a pile of mashed potatoes, a piece of bread, a thumb. And then there’s the “stabbing” function of a fork, which lends even more associations of unpleasantness, if not downright violence. Plopping the fork on the plate between bites can also be a delicate operation – more metallic clanging – and is discernibly and unpleasantly audible in any restaurant the moment you tune in to it.

Not so with wood or bamboo, on any of the above charges.

The most obvious and pleasing characteristic of the chopstick is its material composition – wood or bamboo. There is something about the feel of wood inside the mouth. Most of us probably remember the rough and warm texture of the twigs we tasted as children. It is a most pleasant memory for me.

The Japanese-style wooden or bamboo sticks are tapered, almost to a point. The square-bottom sticks represent a serious design flaw. Tapered sticks afford great precision; one can easily, quietly, quickly, and elegantly select the precise morsel of any pile or formation of almost any food, an especially useful feature when eating salads. The more varied the size and texture of the salad components, the more useful sticks become. Pastas, too, especially shells or penne – no stabbing, falling, or shovelling. Gravity and the sheer awkwardness of the fork’s shovel motion conspire constantly to derail a what-you-thought-was-a-well-timed-and-well-placed forkful of desperately desired food, embarrassing you in the process. The gentlest of squeezes of the sticks effortlessly brings the morsel into your mouth; it slides in the exact mouth location you desire. The pleasure is heightened yet again by the feel of the smooth, warm grain passing both into and out of your lips. And down they go, noiselessly, into their little rests (I like using wine corks as stick rests) or on the edge of a plate.

And then there’s the issue of taste. Metal often contrasts, most unpleasantly, with acidic foods, which I happen to love. I emphatically do NOT want to taste metal of any sort in my food. This is why no one drinks wine from metallic glasses: it destroys nuance. Metal dominates, takes over, destroys subtlety. Cut bamboo and wood, on the other hand, are totally neutral if the utensils are old, or lend a barely discernible grassy subtlety if they are freshly cut.

Only rarely are knives set out at my table. I do not wish to cut or saw anything when I am sitting down to eat. All cutting, slicing, and carving takes place in the kitchen; I don’t want to pick up a big piece of meat with chopsticks and begin gnawing away at it-I cut it into bite-size piece before serving it. In fact, I don’t want to mess with or manipulate the food in ANY way. I just want to eat it, not mess with it. Knowing beforehand that the meal will be eaten exclusively with chopsticks can change the meal’s whole dynamic.

I like to set a big ceramic utensil jar on the dining table, stuffed full with an enticing variety of sticks. Guests choose their own pairs.

I have no desire to change the way people get food into their mouths, so this is not meant in any kind of evangelical way. Bang around all the metal you want. But next time you’re in Costplus, or Pier One, or any imported goods store (why doesn’t some enterprising domestic company come out with a line of really cool, well-designed chopsticks?), just take a ten-second peek at what they’ve got, and let the aesthete in you imagine.
